Poor Rusev, poor Marc Merco. Both talents who were overlooked for their valets.

“Wildman” Marc Mero was certainly a strong in-ring performer, he was even decent enough on the mic, but all fans really wanted to see from him was Sable. The blonde bombshell quickly became the highlight of any Mero match, and the Wildman started to get angry about it.

Bringing things forward to 2015 and the exact same thing has recently happened with Lana and Rusev. After months of teasing it, the WWE finally broke up the duo, with Rusev doing his best angry Marc Mero impression as Lana fluttered her eyelashes in her best Sable impression.

The big difference here, though, is that Sable had an in-ring career and held the WWF Women’s Championship. Rumour suggests that Lana will soon be revealed to be an American all along, and there’s even some ‘90s-heavy stories that claim she will take her queues from Baywatch, but whether she steps into the ring as a competitor remains to be seen.

And is it really wrong to hope that Lana at least ends up following Sable's lead when it comes to Playboy?
