For a long period of time, any wrestler with Samoan heritage was often portrayed as some sort of savage beast. Two such performers were the Samoan Swat Team, who would turn up in the WWF in the early ‘90s as The Headshrinkers.

In recent years, the Samoan legacy has continued with Jimmy and Jey Uso, the real-life twin sons of former SST/Headshrinker/dancing fat man, Rikishi Fatu. This time though, the gimmick of savage brutes was given a fresh spin.

When The Usos debuted in the WWE, they made a point of saying how they were the next generation of what we’d seen previously, how they were educated along with being able to beat some ass. And so we were given the modern-day take on The Headshrinkers and the similar teams that had gone before them.

Man himself evolves over time, and The Usos played on that to bring a fresh take on Samoan tag team wrestling.
