Surprised? You would think that the Viper would have a better record at WrestleMania, but at the end of the day, Randy Orton more often gets his comeuppance at Mania rather than dishing it out.

Orton was one of the Undertaker’s conquests at WrestleMania 21 and lost world title matches to Rey Mysterio at 22 and Triple H at 25. However, Orton did defend his WWE Championship at WrestleMania 24 and beat his former Legacy stablemates and toppled CM Punk in other Mania matches. More recently, he lost to the Shield in a six-man match at 29 and lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30. And at 31, he defeated Seth Rollins before the Architect cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the world title later that night.

At WM 33, he won the WWE Championship in an abysmal match against Bray Wyatt that’s best forgotten. Last year, he lost the United States Championship to Jinder Mahal in a fatal four-way bout.

It’s clear Orton is sliding down the card in terms of prominent matches, as he is fighting AJ Styles in a grudge match this year that really seems like more of an excuse to get both men on the card.
