24. Black Terry (20 April)
An expert of Luchas de Apuestas matches, Black Terry passed away on 20 April after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 72.
Born Esteban Mares Castañeda on 3 September, 1952, Terry enjoyed a glistening career that tallied a recorded 1,246 matches across most major Mexican wrestling outlets, having started in the Universal Wrestling Association, before moving to CMLL, and ultimately landing in the upsart International Wrestling Revolution Group. He regularly wrestled Match of the Night contenders throughout the noughties, with SuperLuchas Magazine deeming his IWRG series vs. Multifacético as some of the best lucha libre of 2008.
Multifacético, the now-renamed Guerrero Maya, Jr., is the legitimate son of Black Terry, and carries on the family mantle.
