38 Wrestlers Who Died In 2025
25. Hartford Love (10 April)
Wes Hutchings, a sixties and seventies grappler based out of Newfoundland, Canada, and known to wrestling fans as Hartford Love, passed away on 10 April. His daughter, JoAnn, shared the news online, but no cause of death was named.
A decorated tag teamer whose greatest successes came alongside Reginald Love as The Love Brothers, Hartford Love's biggest claim to fame on a national level was the few matches he wrestled under Vince McMahon, Sr., for what was then the World Wide Wrestling Federation. Professor Toru Tanaka, Guillotine Gordon, and Angelo Savoldi were amongst the greats with whom he shared the ring.
With New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling also on his resume, the end of Love's wrestling career would be blighted by the death of 'Adorable' Adrian Adonis, who lost his life in a vehicular crash at the end of a tour in Newfoundland. The real-life Wes Hutchings opted never to wrestle again.
