As mentioned earlier, Barrett is coming off a poor Intercontinental title reign. He lost most of the time in non-title bouts and didn't even have the belt with him during the thievery shenanigans leading to WrestleMania 31. They made him look like a very weak champion, and it nearly derailed him until now. WWE needs to give Barrett a big push from here. This will all be for nothing if they have him go back to losing next week. It's not enough to have the commentators remind us that he won the King of the Ring, because we don't know what that's supposed to mean in 2015. Don't tell us that the King of the Ring is important and that the winner deserves to be highly-regarded, but show us. Do that by putting Barrett on a roll that leads to bigger things down the line. If the WWE does all of this, then they will have a bigger star in Bad News Barrett and a respectable platform to promote talent that the fans can take seriously.
