4 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (Sep 3)
1. CM Punk’s Commentary
Can CM Punk sit in on comms every week?
He brought a calmness to the desk that's been missing, and he didn't miss the chance to put over what is happening this Sunday; All Out isn't just Punk's first major match since 2014. No, it's also a mega-match for Darby Allin, and Punk did a neat job of putting that across over the headset.
When he wasn't buttering up Allin or talking about how nervous he'll be this weekend, Punk was putting Daniel Garcia over as a legitimate threat. At one point, he outright said that he'd happily take on the challenge of wrestling Garcia if Dan was able to take out Darby on Rampage. That was a nice line.
AEW did some cracking business here. Punk shone on commentary, Allin picked up his win over Garcia, and then both All Out rivals came face-to-face as the show went dark. Yes, this was more of the same from these two, but that's not a bad thing by any means.
