4 Ups & 1 Down From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Dec 13th)

1. Homecoming Implications

This column has been continuously critical of the rivalry between Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie, mainly due to some of the comments made by the women in relation to the endings of the previous contests. The action itself hasn't been too bad though, and this week's announcement added a fantastic new element to the next bout at Homecoming. Gail Kim will be the referee.

Is there any way this match can possibly be a disaster now?

We don't even need to speak about how much of an influence Gail has been in the knockouts division over the years. After all, she became the inaugural Knockouts Champion back in 2007 and is now a producer for the division. The Hall of Famer doesn't need to have a major onscreen presence, but bringing her in every now and again will do some excellent things.

Whether or not Homecoming is indeed the final match in the rivalry, this championship match has all the potential to be an excellent match on the card. It may not be the match of the night considering the rest of the matches announced, but it'll certainly help kick Impact's new year off in grand fashion!
