4 Ups & 1 Down From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Dec 13th)

2. Two Become Four

Following on from Jake Crist and Ethan Page qualifying for Homecoming's Ultimate X Match last week, they were joined this week by Rich Swann and Trey Miguel. There's a good mix of talent there, with the athleticism of Miguel being matched by the power of Page. Considering the talent mix going into Impact's staple match type, it's extremely possible that we're in for a match of the year contender.

Ultimate X matches are always a highlight whenever they occur, mixing excellent wrestling with dramatic moments. It's no secret that everyone loves watching these bouts, regardless of whether or not they enjoy the Impact product as a whole, so it's strange that Impact don't bring them out more often. Sure, it's most likely because of height restrictions in some venues or other logistical things such as that, but the point still stands.

Jake, Ethan, Rich, and Trey have a lot of hype to live up to coming into the match. With the type of match it is, there's no way it'll be dreadful. It just depends on how good it compares to previous Ultimate X bouts.
