4 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (June 14)

9. Hardy Down, Then Up. Yay?

It would be nice if WWE would let us know whether we should actually care about Jeff Hardy, wouldn’t it?

For months, Hardy has been a human punching bag on Raw, getting stepped on by Sheamus, Miz and Jinder Mahal. Suddenly, he won a match out of nowhere last week against Cedric Alexander, then immediately lost a match to John Morrison. Immediately after, he put his career on the line against Alexander – and won.

At no point was there any self-reflection about his career, lamentation that he might be slowing down… nothing. So when Hardy was in the middle of two matches, it was impossible to become invested him in as a character. He lost one, won one, and no one cared.

Come on WWE, can you at least pretend to try?
