4 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 4)

2. Building To Something (?)

Maybe it’ll happen next week, but it feels like WWE is teasing this Randy Orton/Omos match to be further down the line and to be something actually special.

Orton challenged Omos to a singles match, and that challenge went unanswered until RK-Bro and Omos & AJ Styles were in the ring together. Styles jawed with Orton for a bit, but when Omos tried to address the challenge, Randy attacked AJ and laid him out with an RKO.

The announcers suggested it was part of a plan to get under Omos’ skin a bit before their Crown Jewel match for the Raw Tag Team Championship. And while that could be the case, this isn’t the first time they’ve teased Omos/Orton confrontations.

If they actually play it right, they could make a match between these two really interesting, rather than just a throwaway match on Raw building up to a PPV tag title match. Of course, watch the singles match get announced after this column is published.
