4 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 4)

Downs…

10. A Rare Misstep

Damian Priest Jeff Hardy

Since his debut on the main roster, Damian Priest has defied the odds, overcoming what has been abysmal booking to succeed on Raw, even winning the United States Championship.

But Monday night was a rare step backwards for Priest. With the entire roster available to challenge for the United States Championship, Damian faced… Jeff Hardy. Again. It’s worth noting he’s beaten Hardy in singles action and in a triple threat.

However, it got worse. The match itself wasn’t very good, and Hardy even put Priest down with a Twist of Fate and Swanton, only for Priest to kick out at 2 and immediately roll Jeff up for the win. So, a bad match against a glorified jobber and he escaped with a win after taking the guy’s finisher. None of that made Damian look good at all.

This just didn’t work. But we’ll consider it a mild “down” because they’ve done so much right with Priest this year.
