It was a struggle to decide whether the six-man tag team main event was a positive or a negative. There just wasn’t anything really to say. It was a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

There wasn’t anything wrong with the match, and it’s outcome, while predictable, accomplished what it set out to do: give the WWE Championship challenger a bit of a psychological edge and cast doubt despite having lost two matches already. But it also was very stock: Nothing stood out or really made you stand up and take notice.

However, there was one big missed opportunity: This was a prime opportunity to identify and really drive home new tag title challengers for the Street Profits. The recently reunited Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, who held the title exactly a year ago, would be ideal opponents to dethrone the Profits, who are now seven months into a reign that has been running on fumes for a while.

Monday’s main event could have done more to sow the seeds that the former tag champs have their eyes on reclaiming their titles. Hell, the announcers at least could have driven the point home that they were former Raw Tag Team Champions.

The Profits have defended the titles three times in the past six months, twice against Andrade & Angel Garza. They clearly aren’t doing anything with the titles, so why not give someone – anyone – a shot with them? Ziggler & Roode, while not setting the world on fire, would at least change things up.
