4 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 5)

6. McIntyre’s Mentors

Did you know that Big Show and Christian were mentors to WWE Champion Drew McIntyre? Neither did we.

But apparently, that was the case, according to Randy Orton, as he ran down the events of last week, including a play-by-play of his night-vision goggle attack on the four legends. He then channelled his inner Bluto from Animal House and declared that nothing was over until he said it was before challenging McIntyre to a Hell in a Cell match.

We didn’t get an answer per se, but McIntyre then burst into the room and assaulted Orton until the officials broke it up and the Viper fled. So it looks like we’ll now get a third PPV title match after McIntyre won the first two to successfully defend his championship. Because no one has anything better to do.

Maybe attacking Drew’s “mentors” was viewed as an opening for this rematch, but it’s really, really weak sauce. When you make Dolph Ziggler demanding a title shot seem like a more coherent storyline, you’ve got problems.
