4 Ups & 11 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 11)

9. So Much For Momentum

Once again, WWE’s short-term memory booking struck on Monday night.

If you tuned in the past couple of weeks, you might have thought that the company was trying to build up Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke, having Brooke pick up a win over Shayna Baszler after going toe-to-toe with her the week before.

But on Monday night, Baszler & Nia Jax beat Rose & Brooke in a short match, and then we got the obligatory teased dissension between tag partners with Nia looking suspiciously at Shayna for tagging herself in. Because it’s been three weeks since they teased a breakup.

Also, what’s the point here? Baszler & Jax aren’t really in the tag team hunt right now, nor are they mounting singles challenges against Raw Women’s Champion Asuka, and they’ve lost embarrassing matches to Lana and Dana in the past month. But then they wipe out Rose & Brooke just in case that duo was establishing themselves.

Just more baffling decisions from WWE.
