4 Ups & 11 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 22)
10. Egg Must Turn (Sunnyside) Up
Remember the good ol’ days of the Attitude Era where Vince McMahon would threaten to fire people for gross incompetence or losing matches or some other transgression?
Well, now old senile Vince was on Raw threatening to fire his two authority figures if they didn’t magically recover a golden egg movie prop that we’re all pretending is worth $100 million.
Raw opened with a recap of Egg-gate, then Vince told Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville how it wasn’t just the value of the egg, it was the fact someone stole something from him. Apparently, there was blurry security footage of the thief, who had a bare chest, leading Vince to speculate that it could indeed be a woman. (Deville almost broke out laughing at that point.)
To make the segment even worse, after threatening to fire Pearce and Deville, Vince offered a reward of a WWE Championship match to whomever found the egg or the culprit. So WWE is now awarding title matches based on finding movie props.
Look, if they don’t want to do rankings like AEW, that’s fine, but this is just a bit too much.
