4 Ups & 2 Downs For AEW Collision (Jan 27 - Results & Review)

Ups...

4. Willie Mack Always Makes For A Good Time, As Does The Mad King

Willie Mack is such a great, entertaining presence in the pro wrestling world, and any frequent reader of these Collision Ups & Downs will be well aware that there's always a good chance of an Up if Willie is in the equation. Likewise, Eddie Kingston clearly always makes for professional wrestling gold.

Mack vs. Kingston was great for what it was; a clean win for Eddie and some nice moments to shine for Willie. Even in defeat, Mack has somewhat of a get-out, for he kayfabe tweaked his knee during the early goings, but even then he didn't make it easy for the Mad King.

Kingston's win came after six minutes, nailing his Backfist to the Future to secure the victory. While this was a nice sprint of a contest, even more important was what occurred post-match. As Eddie began to make his way up the aisle, Bryan Danielson made his way out for his own upcoming match against Yuji Nagata and refused to even look in the direction of Kingston.

Of course, this follows on from the American Dragon literally spitting in Eddie's face last week, and adding more to this simmering rivalry is the fact that Danielson was now taking on someone who Eddie Kingston idolises. As such, Kingston decided to then take a seat at the commentary table to join the call for Danielson vs. Nagata, and obviously Eddie talking in any form or fashion is a bonus.
