4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Battle Of The Belts III

2. Another Good Match

AEW

Thunder Rosa is still capable of putting on in-ring bangers with the right opponents despite criticism from some quarters that her AEW Women's Title reign has been lacking. That criticism isn't invalid though. She hasn't set the world on fire as champ, and has actually sort of faded into the background at times.

However, this BOTB bout vs. Jamie Hatyer was good sh*t.

Hayter has started to come into her own throughout 2022, and this could be considered the next step in her own evolution. No, there wasn't a hope in hell that she was leaving with the title, but it was still a fun watch that never once threatened to outstay its welcome. That's not always a given with these title exhibitions.

AEW shouldn't make a habit of this, but all those shenanigans involving Toni Storm, Britt Baker and Rebel helped keep the energy up. Such ringside distractions also made this match stand out from the coming main event, and that's not a bad thing.

Solid.
