4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Battle Of The Belts III

3. Nothing Wrong With This

The post-match angle afterwards was really well handled too.

AEW made it clear that Wardlow is the tonic to the towering Satnam Singh. He would've powerbombed the giant had Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt not been around, but the numbers game was just too much for MJF's old bodyguard. Sometimes, simple storytelling is the best storytelling.

Singh wasn't tasked with doing much, but his chokeslam through the table looked vicious. Lethal posing with the TNT belt also hints at a rematch come All Out. If that's the plan, then this fan isn't against it. He and Wardlow could achieve great things with a little more time and no ad breaks.

Worries that Wardlow was about to become some glorified mascot for Best Friends were shelved by AEW's booking here. Orange Cassidy and the gang were nowhere to be found, which is a positive for this feud. Wardlow shouldn't need backup against anybody, even when he's outnumbered.
