4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Feb 25)

2. Beef Settled

Sorry, the internet, but your "Joey Janela is bad" takes have been nullified by the man using a fan's prosthetic leg as a weapon in last night's clash with Kip Sabian. That's it. The conversation is over.

Janela vs. Sabian was a good example of AEW attempting to elevate Dark by using the platform to pay off a multi-week storyline. Kip and Joey have been warring for a while now and settling their beef before Revolution sets both up to do something new for the Double or Nothing arc, with 'The Bad Boy' a likely candidate for elevation.

The match was heavy on Penelope Ford's involvement. Janela's ex attacked Joey after he had low-blowed Sabian during his entrance and dipped in and out constantly, which is fine. This was a Falls Count Anywhere match. From the heels' point of view, it would be stupid not to get involved, and it allowed Ford to show off the eye-catching stunts that got her over in the first place.

These two brawled all over the arena using every bit of plunder available to them in the process, though one particularly nasty spot saw Ford take a horrible fall when Sabian did a sh*tty job of catching her, with both tumbling to the outside. A grim moment for sure, but the rest of the match was solid and Janela walked out a rightful winner.
