4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 7)

3. Fine Build For A Battle

Britt Baker Riho
AEW

Personally, this fan isn't keen on Riho as Britt Baker's challenger. Anybody who has read any of his stuff since AEW began could see that he's also not high on Riho generally, but it is what it is. AEW committed to her as Britt's challenger for Battle Of The Belts, and it was important that they did right by Riho on Rampage.

Happy days then.

Riho upset the champ's apple cart heading into Saturday night's special. Also, Ruby Soho (who was her tag-team partner for the night) got some revenge of her own on the heels. That was a nice link back to Soho's own stint as top contender, which is something AEW typically does with aplomb.

There's no sense in arguing against a tag match this well-worked. It was fluid, zippy and didn't threaten to outstay its welcome. Jamie Hayter looked the best she has since joining the promotion, and Riho came out of the thing looking better than she did going in.
