4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (March 15 - Results & Review)

2. A Timeless Squash

Toni Storm AEW

Normally, squash matches and Rampage go together about as well as Max Caster and social media posts that aren't controversial. However, Toni Storm and Mariah May slapping about some local indy workers worked out quite well on this week's show. Why? Well, because it had some purpose, and everyone had a story to tell.

Storm told regular rival Deonna Purrazzo and her then-unknown mystery partner to watch and learn. That immediately handed this match meaning, and meant the announcers had something to chew on as Toni and May schooled their opponents. It's tough to argue with any match that furthers a story.

This sort of thing should be encouraged.

Toni's gimmick is so entertaining too. Everybody knows that by now, but it's worth repeating. The way she owns the stage as soon as she walks out is a sight to behold, and it'll honestly take some doing for Mercedes Mone to top anything 'Timeless' has been up to as a character.
