4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 29)

Downs...

2. Main Event Struggles

Britt Baker Abadon
AEW

It was never actually believable that Abadon was gonna overcome Britt Baker and her cronies. Also, 90% of the 'Trick Or Treat' main event (which was basically a hardcore match with title shot implications for Abadon if she won) was a bit slow and meandering. That hurt it badly.

Also, Baker and Abby could be forgiven for smashing up that table post-match. It just would not break, and they damn well tried. A swinging neckbreaker off the ring apron didn't do it, and neither did a suplex from the floor as Rebel and Jamie Hayter held the thing steady.

That summed up the tough shift these women had.

Thumbtacks couldn't even save this one from mediocrity. That's a shame, because Britt's prior hardcore exploits have been worth seeing. This...not so much. It wasn't really even the best showcase of what Abadon is all about or what she's capable of.
