4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: Slam Dunk (Feb 18)

2. Putting Rampage Over

Airing Jay White's first ever AEW match on Rampage was a bigger deal than some might think. 'Switchblade' could become a major star for the company if he eventually moves over full time from New Japan, and it was wise to give the Friday night hour some of his star power/his very first match.

There might even have been some fresh faces tuning into Rampage just to see him, which is a positive for AEW. Making sure that Rampage looks like a vital part of every wrestling fan's week should be a pressing concern in 2022, especially now that the All Elite roster is bursting at the seams with world class talent.

This promotion could put bangers on every time it hits TV. It often does, and this was another example of that quality. Still, it was sweet to see that Rampage nabbed White's debut instead of Dynamite or the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view.

This is Rampage, baby.
