4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: Slam Dunk (Feb 18)

1. That Main Event

Trent Beretta Jay White
AEW

It sure didn't hurt that White vs. Trent Beretta was f*cking class.

The best workers show composure and know when to up the pace during their matches. Jay refused to rush through things just to show off. No, he was more interested in telling a good story with Trent, and that meant more than some 10-minute speedy spotfest ever could.

This main event was definitely one of the best matches in Rampage history to date. It's one that people will look back on at the end of the year, and the commentary team (more plaudits for them) did well to explain how well these guys know one another/why they were fighting in the first place.

Jay was always coming out on the winning side, of course, but knowing that shouldn't have shattered anyone's enjoyment. Beretta levelled up, for lack of a better term, here too. Hopefully, AEW will trust him with more featured spots like this going forwards.

A rematch would be good.
