4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage 100 (July 7)

1. The “Special” 100th Episode?

Anybody hoping for Tony Khan and AEW at large to treat the 100th episode of Rampage as some massive celebration would've left disappointed. The show was subtitled "100", and the announce team mentioned CM Punk's All Elite debut on an early edition of the program, but that was about it.

Put the balloons and cake away, people.

Let's be really honest about something here. It'd be a bit of a surprise if Rampage was around for 100 more episodes. Yes, AEW has a TV contract to honour, but ratings haven't exactly been sparkling. Even if one accounts for live numbers being a poor metric to judge on in 2023, there's a general disinterest in the 'C' show overall.

This fan hopes Rampage sticks around though, because the broadcast does occasionally throw up killer matches to watch. Plus, and this is rather important, it could be handy as more of a "Dynamite Extra" accompaniment to the flagship, and a feed-in to Collision.

Friday's 100th episode didn't feel special at all though.
