4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 13)

Downs...

3. Four Is Too Much

AEW Rampage Commentary Excalibur Chris Jericho Taz Mark Henry
AEW

Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, the sound tech, the sound tech's wife and the couple's lovely dog Sparky all sat in on commentary for Rampage. Only joking, obviously, but that's what it sounded like at points. All four announcers had a hard time finishing their sentences before someone else jumped in.

It wasn't a total mess, and they did their best with it, but AEW should've learned a lesson during that Cage vs. Omega opener. Four commentators is at least one too many. In fact, scratch that - Tony Khan should install Excalibur as the main anchor, then pick a partner for him. They can even cycle others in and out as they go if that suits.

This was a little full-on.

Excalibur and Jericho, Taz or Henry would be for the best long-term. Wrestling doesn't need four guys shouting their heads off constantly, nor does it need that many voices telling the same story. It feels like this quartet might struggle to nail down a rhythm.
