4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 23)

3. Long Overdue

"It'll be backed up by storytelling elsewhere". Storytelling like this.

Simply having MJF in the house for Rampage instantly gave the show more credibility than it usually has. AEW World Champs rarely (if ever) appear on Fridays, so hopefully this was an experiment to see if Friedman and Adam Cole can move the needle a little bit. Rampage needs that too, being brutally honest.

Both men worked a neat little segment that saw MJF announce a match for Cole at Forbidden Door vs. Tom Lawlor. Then, Lawlor and Royce Isaacs attacked Cole from behind as MJF pretended he was close to saving him from the sneak attack. Typically for Friedman, it was heel sh*thousery 101.

Hands up who else would like to see more top title feud developments like this on Rampage? This guy is defo a fan, and thinks it's something AEW should've been doing way more of when the Friday night weekly was a 'B' show tucked in behind Dynamite.
