4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 30)

2. Top Opener

Claudio Castagnoli Komander
AEW

If you're only gonna watch one match from Dynamite or Rampage, make it this one. Oh yes, Claudio Castagnoli vs. Komander was slicker and more logical than anything than happened on Wednesday. That's this dude's story at least, and he's sticking to it. So there!

Seriously though, what a match. Admittedly (if you're nitpicking), there were some moments when Claudio was visibly standing around waiting for Komander's high-flying moves, but that's a minor grumble. Overall, this was fabulous stuff; Komander's unique shooting star press on the crowd barricade gets brownie points too.

So, mind you, does Castagnoli's more methodical pace. He never rushed through anything, and always seemed totally in control of what was happening. Meanwhile, Komander got to shine and look like the flying machine he truly is.

Then, they worked a killer finish into the bargain.
