4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 27)

3. All That Hardy Cosplaying

The Young Bucks Hardy Boys Gangrel

Well, this was an absolute riot. A good riot.

The Young Bucks ditched their usual spot-based fare for some laid-back laughs. They didn't try to make the tag bout vs. Jon Cruz and Taylor Rust something it wasn't, and instead appeared wearing retro Hardy Boy outfits alongside old Attitude Era stalwart Gangrel.

Everything, from the ring attire and Gangers' cameo to the Hardy-inspired moves the pair used and the fact Brandon Cutler was "Lita" (thong on show and all), worked. This was really fun stuff, and it entertained the live crowd way more than anaemic, short bouts like Caster vs. Martin could.

As the intro says, this was precisely the kind of build that the upcoming Bucks vs. Hardys match on Sunday required. Seeing Matt and Jeff come to Gangrel's aid and then reunite 'The New Brood' was a neat Easter egg for older fans too.
