4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 1)

Downs...

3. This Will Always Be Annoying

At this point, it's perhaps surprising that Tony Khan hasn't introduced a weekly show called 'AEW Battle Royale', because the man f*cking loves that match type. This week's version had tag-teams vying for a crack at MJF and Adam Cole's ROH Tag belts come All Out.

You'd think a match that had pay-per-view importance would be given full focus, eh? Not quite. Khan and his company are slaves to the annoying picture-in-picture ad breaks that blight All Elite programming. So, mid-Battle Royale, the match was placed in a tiny box on the right hand side, muted and...commercials for Collision 24 hours later aired.

Interrupting your own show to advertise other episodes of your own shows is an irritating trope AEW does far too often. Worse, they were guilty of it multiple times throughout this 60-minute episode - almost every match was sidetracked so AEW could shout, "WATCH MORE AEW" at you.

It's a bit much.
