4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 1)

1. Winner From Start To Finish

Taya Valkyrie Anna Jay Skye Blue
AEW

The female tag takes top spot on this week's 'Ups' section mind.

That was such a well-worked match from beginning to end; Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue make a good babyface unit, and the heel combo of Taya Valkyrie and post-JAS Anna Jay showed they've got some chemistry of their own. The future is bright for women in AEW if things keep purring along this way.

Arguably, the usual pic-in-pic ad break scooped too much time away from all four, but the fans were right into everything they were seeing and each woman worked her socks off to deliver a solid match. Skye, Willow and Anna (in particular) should be banner names in the female ranks for years to come.

Nightingale and Blue naturally grab lots of eyeballs because they're both energetic, popular faces, but Jay deserves a special mention too. She's grafted to improve in-ring, and she's perfect for tag situations like this one. It's good to see Taya bounce back from the misery of that Britt Baker match as well.

Happy days.
