4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 1)

2. No Fists, Just Flips!

El Hijo Del Vikingo Nick Wayne
AEW

Look, this guy isn't the kind of fan willing to overlook psychology or logic too often. It might be boring and stuffy to some, but those things are important when trying to make matches mean something. Saying that, you'd have to be a right grump to ignore how impressive some of the spots during this tag bout were.

El Hijo del Vikingo's running tightrope springboard dropkick (or whatever you'd bloody call it!) was amazing, and so was his reverse hurricanana from the top rope on Gringo Loco. Sure, flips for the sake of it don't achieve anything in the long run, but they're visually dazzling in the heat of the moment.

Take a bow, gents.

Someone needs to have a conversation backstage about how ineffective AEW refs are during multi-mans though. Also, Kip Sabian deserves more and Nick Wayne needs an actual story to tell or he'll go the way of Action Andretti, but those are minor grumbles.

The Rampage tag was all-action and pulsating from the off.
