4 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 20)

Ups...

4. Sami Says "Sorry"

It's tough to tell what WWE have planned for Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at the moment, and that's a good thing. As predictable as SmackDown has become, this dynamic still feels fresh, and while it'd be a shame to see them split so early into their heel run, their tensions have been built well.

They reconciled last night. Early on, Zayn helped KO to a distraction victory over Dolph Ziggler, then found his best friend backstage. Sami called Kev his "guardian angel," asserted he had his back, and apologised for the past few weeks. Then, he went one step further, promising to lay down for the former Universal Champion in Fastlane's five-way main event.

Further shenanigans are almost certainly afoot, as neither of these fellas are exactly the trustworthy sort. Still, at least WWE are taking time with it. The storyline has shades of last year's Kevin Owens/Chris Jericho saga, and if the pay-off is even half as satisfying as that was, it'll be something to look forward to.
