4 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Nov 15)

Downs...

3. Losing Sami vs. Dolph

Miz Spirit Squad Maryse

The Miz and Dolph Ziggler kicked-off SmackDown with a solid match for the Intercontinental Championship. It didn't quite reach the heights of their No Mercy barn-burner, but how could it? They went for close to 20 minutes, Maryse pushed her husband to reverse Dolph's roll-up, and just like that, we have a brand new Intercontinental Championships.

The match was too good to be a Down, but the consequences most certainly weren't. Miz's last IC run was fantastic, and as vital in rebuilding himself as one of SmackDown's biggest heels as the infamous Talking Smack rant, but we just lost Dolph Ziggler vs. Sami Zayn at Survivor Series, and that sucks.

On a pay-per-view highlighted by Brock Lesnar vs. an old man and three multi-man matches that'll likely be full of shenanigans, Ziggler vs. Zayn had show-stealing potential. They're two of the best wrestlers in the company, and if given enough time, it was hard to imagine them not blowing the roof off. WWE have deprived us of this by switching the title last night, and that's a shame.

Sami and Miz will probably have a fun match themselves, but it won't be the same, despite Miz's improvements since the Draft. Boo and indeed hiss, SmackDown.
