Ups…

4. Trolling Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin defeated Tye Dillinger towards the end of the night, and while unspectacular, it was a decent little bout. It’s always nice to see ‘The Perfect 10’ on television, and he played a great underdog to Corbin, who didn't do anything particularly remarkable between the ropes, but still emerged looking good.

The match was, of course, set up last week. ‘The Lone Wolf’ assaulted Tye prior to him answering AJ Styles’ United States Title open challenge, but Dillinger fought back, with Corbin getting his "revenge" last night. He put his opponent away by cheap-shotting him, throwing him into the ring post, then hitting the End Of Days, and that was that.

The story continued afterward, though. In a move sure to infuriate Corbin, Styles met Dillinger backstage, ripped into ‘The Lone Wolf,’ then decided to give Tye a United States Title shot despite his loss. It was a grade A troll move, and while the feud didn’t occupy much of the spotlight last night, this was a well-played, understated escalation, and one that’ll no doubt raise Baron’s ire once again.
