4 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jan 18)

2. On A Tear

Since losing the World Championship match at Homecoming, Brian Cage has sunk to a different level in an effort to earn himself another opportunity at the top prize on offer in Impact. He interrupted a match between KM and Caleb Konley, attacking both men in the process. It was a random match to have open the show, so who really cared about a no contest.

It’s great to see The Machine staying in the main event scene for the time being. As much as he excelled in the X Division for the time he was there, he’s more at home when he’s tangling with the larger guys. It does look impressive when he can pick up smaller lads with one arm, but why do that when you can have him deadlifting guys of equal size?

The World Championship scene in Impact right now is picture perfect, with Killer Kross, Moose, and Cage all chasing current champ Johnny Impact. Any of those three would be more than viable champions at this current moment but seeing as Impact only captured the gold in October, don’t expect to see him losing the strap any time soon.
