4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 28)

Ups...

4. Ridge Holland Getting The Pin

Few will be delighted about Cesaro doing the J.O.B here, but it's a minor positive that Ridge Holland was the one who pinned him. Sheamus getting the win for his team would've been a waste of time, because the spotlight should be firmly on Holland at the moment. It's vital that he becomes a reliable partner for Sheamus rather than someone the Irishman carries.

The actual action was some laugh too.

Ricochet bumped around neatly for the heels (he himself seemed more motivated than last week, which is no surprise given that prior match was an outright squash that made him look bad), and Cesaro went about his business in a typically excellent fashion. Meanwhile, Ridge and Sheamus were the smash mouth threats who wouldn't be denied.

It's hardly a bad thing that WWE are setting up fresh heel challengers for New Day when those boys inevitably win the SmackDown Tag Titles again. That'll happen at some point in the future, so WWE are doing the right thing by establishing new teams.
