4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sep 17)

1. Nobody Cares About Your Hometown

Anybody who has watched WWE for longer than a few months knew what was up during that "main event" homecoming celebration. There was just no way Bianca Belair was ending SmackDown on a high. That's not the done thing in this promotion.

Hometown heroes get egg on their face with a quite annoying regularity.

Becky Lynch stormed out to ruin Belair's party with some patronising promo work and a Manhandle Slam. Meanwhile, fans in Knoxville stood around wondering why this couldn't just be an honest celebration of their girl done good. This wasn't the best ending SmackDown could've had, truth be told.

Kane was there, Bianca got the key to her state, then Bex heeled it up and treated Belair with same disrespect Sasha and Bayley did earlier in the year. The main problem with this closing skit is that it was painfully obvious what was going to happen next. Sometimes, obvious booking is the right booking.
