So here’s the thing: Brock Lesnar doesn’t really lose.

The Beast Incarnate hasn’t been pinned since losing to Triple H three WrestleManias ago, and his only clean loss since then was against The Undertaker at last year’s SummerSlam.

It’s extremely unlikely that he'll win, but WWE need Orton to look strong on his return. He’s one of the company’s biggest stars, and is about to return from a long spell on the treatment table, so it’s vital that he gets off to a good start upon coming back.

There’s no shame in losing to Brock Lesnar - the man’s one of the most dominant forces in WWE history, after all - but if WWE give Orton the Dean Ambrose WrestleMania 32 treatment, they’re shooting themselves in the foot. They can avoid such damage with smart long-term booking over the coming weeks and months, but they’ve got to be careful.

That aside, wrestling’s unpredictability is a big part of its appeal. Randy and Brock have all the tools to produce a quality wrestling match, but it’s tough to get invested when you can guess the outcome.
