4 Ups & 4 Downs Before WWE SummerSlam 2017

1. The US Title Match Looks Strong

The best build to any match at SummerSlam has come from AJ Styles, Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon. If WWE weren't busy experimenting with Jinder Mahal, then AJ or KO would probably be WWE Champion right now. As things stand, they have to be content with warring over the United States Title.

Adding Shane into the mix as special guest referee provides a reason for a rematch between Styles and Owens on pay-per-view that means more than just a return title shot for KO. Booking both wrestlers to 'accidentally' bump McMahon on SmackDown over the past few weeks also keeps fans guessing over which side Shane will lean toward come SummerSlam.

It looks like we're getting Shane vs. Owens going forward, but it's not impossible that McMahon will have issues with AJ either. Of all the title matches on Sunday's pay-per-view not for the Universal Title, this is the most compelling.

Give these world-class performers 20+ minutes, throw in a little McMahon drama, and watch them tear the house down.
