4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Battle Of The Belts V

1. Still No World Title?!

MJF AEW World Champion

We're five deep into this Battle Of The Belts concept and the AEW World Title still hasn't been defended on it. Not even once. The closest fans have come to a bonafide World Championship bout? All those AEW Women's and ROH World Title scraps that have been showcased before.

Where the fudge is MJF?!

Tony needs to think about where he's taking BOTB as a standalone special, because it won't pop great ratings without properly-built title bouts involving the company's biggest stars and top prizes. The commentators even spoke about MJF when referencing Bryan Danielson's match on Rampage.

Friedman isn't alone here, but it'd be nice to see him go to TK and suggest sticking him on one of these cards. Even an exhibition match vs. some hastily-arranged challenger would be better than nothing. It's either that or the next one is called 'Battle Of The Belts VI: Not The World Title'.
