4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (24 May - Results & Review)

1. This Was Shockingly Dull

Rush Isiah Kassidy

The rest of the match was a chore to sit through too.

Rush eventually beat Isiah Kassidy, but it was so slow and turgid. They took far too long to get to the point, and that meant things played before near silence at times. Previously, this guy has said that AEW needed to do more with Rush than book him in short squash matches. Well, this was a long squash, which doesn't solve the problem.

Fans have zero reason to care about anything he's doing. What are his goals? Who are his real targets? What motivates him to be such a reckless, violent thug in-ring? These are the questions people need answers to. If All Elite doesn't provide them, then there's no reason for fans to invest whatsoever.

AEW also followed up on Samoa Joe's rapid squash with a 10-minute squash in the next segment. Boy, that's some crappy show formatting and sucked the life out of Rampage. Two characters were presented in almost identical fashion, but it took one 10 minutes to beat a guy the other smashed in 3?!
