4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (24 May - Results & Review)

Ups...

4. Fine Enough Setup

Chris Jericho Big Bill
AEW

Admittedly, Chris Jericho's meandering promo wasn't really going anywhere before Katsuyori Shibata ran out to attack Big Bill then Hook choked him over the guardrail. The three-way these lads are gonna have at Double Or Nothing is far from ideal (Hook avenging his loss solo would've been better), but it was nice to see more pay-per-view build on Rampage.

The 'C' show doesn't get enough of that.

To be fair, AEW followed up on Hook and Shibata's attack by drafting in someone else to give them pointers afterwards. More on that later. In execution, showing that Jericho is there for the taking if Bill is distracted works. His only hope at DoN will be exploiting bullsh*t "For The World" rules to have his "Redwood" interfere and help.

It's true that Jericho needs a breather from AEW, and vice versa, but this was a watchable scuffle with two pay-per-view challengers. At least they're trying to make something of the bogus FTW Title situation, so nobody can scoff at the effort.
