4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (24 May - Results & Review)

2. Women Saved The Day

Kris Statlander Anna Jay Alex Windsor
AEW

Thank God for this tag-team main event.

Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander vs. Anna Jay and the debuting Alex Windsor was the best match on Rampage by a mile. It was the only one with any real energy or sense or urgency. Windsor managed to shine well, Jay has come on leaps and bounds, and there'd be something in the Willow and Stat tag if AEW had a fleshed out tag scene for women.

Back to Alex. Don't get your hopes too high for her, because this is All Elite Wrestling and many debuting wrestlers vanish just like that. There doesn't seem to be any tangible reward for showing out in your first match anymore, which is a real pity. On the plus side, Windsor can be proud of her performance.

It's obvious she'd work some bangers vs. Kris and Willow one-on-one. Failing that, have Jay get p*ssed that they lost and book a series of matches between them to see if Anna can get even better. This was a fun main event, and one you should go out of your way to check out.
