4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 4)

3. Been Here, Done This!

The Young Bucks Hardys
AEW

The Hardys and The Young Bucks last clashed in a straight up tag-team match at Double Or Nothing 2022. Whilst it wasn't bad, it also wasn't as good as some likely figured it'd be. Why? Well, Matt and Jeff aren't a patch on their old selves these days. They're even older in August 2023 too.

Is their rematch next week a good idea?

There's a wider problem with how AEW sets these things up too. They announce "dream matches" so suddenly, then act like you'd be stupid for shrugging shoulders. Build was non-existent for this, it doesn't carry any contendership stakes, and it'll be a worse version of a match people have already watched.

Think Matt and Jeff can keep pace with what The Jacksons like to do at this stage in the game? Not a chance, and The Bucks don't really like to slow down for anybody either. In truth, this Dynamite showdown could be a messy reminder that The Hardys are well past it.
