4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 4)

1. This Was Garbage

Swerve Strickland AR Fox

Right, time to get something straight.

Tag-teams like Swerve Strickland and AR Fox do not need short squashes like this. If anything, it's a total waste of air time and does nothing to showcase their skills. Bunging Swerve in yet another tag shows Tony Khan doesn't know what to do with the guy too - it's rinse and repeat.

Rampage is only 60 minutes long, and no hour-long show needs bogus squashes starring teams that have been haphazardly thrown together. If that must happen though, at least make sure the chosen duo suits a squash format. AR's high-flying dives and Strickland's general style certainly don't.

Jericho claiming that the rest of the tag-team division would be sitting up and taking notice of Swerve and Fox after this win was laughable. They're all in the same boat, Chris. Those teams know this sort of thing means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
