4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 4)

Ups...

4. Old-School Is Cool!

Prince Nana Big Bill Brian Cage

Onto the good, and Rampage had an equal share of it.

There was something distinctly old-school about the promo Prince Nana, Big Bill and Brian Cage cut on FTR. The musclebound tag-team is next on tap for a crack at the AEW Tag Titles, and they've been doing well with everything they've been given on TV thus far. This was another example of that.

Nana's wide-eyed cackling about money, Cage posturing with muscles in places most people don't even gave places, and Bill standing there like a man mountain - oh yes, this was very 1980s WWF in a way, and that's not a complaint. It was over the top and larger than life, which is definitely preferable to most lame All Elite backstage skits.

Fingers crossed Cage and Bill don't go their separate ways after Dynamite. It'd be far-fetched to put them forwards as likely FTR-beaters, but they do deserve to stick together for a longer run after losing to Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler on Wednesday.
