4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 10)

2. This Is How The Acclaimed Follow Up?

The Acclaimed Jeff Jarrett
AEW

Right, so The Acclaimed lost their AEW Tag-Team Titles to The Gunns on Dynamite midweek, then rushed out to save Best Friends from Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and cronies to close out Rampage. Huh? It might've been wise to keep the duo away from Friday's show until they've reacted to dropping the belts.

There was no narrative context here.

Commentary barely even mentioned that Max Caster and Anthony Bowens had shed their straps too, which was odd. Think about this from a live crowd perspective as well; they saw The Acclaimed go for Jarrett/Lethal before they lost the titles to The Gunns. In other words, one mini-feud reignited before another full-blown one had wrapped up.

That title change feels more and more like a knee-jerk reaction to something rather than a calculated decision. Maybe it happened so Tony Khan can give The Acclaimed another happy moment at Revolution, but that'll play before diminishing returns.

Weird.
