2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 3)

The Elite wrestle on Rampage; Saraya and Toni Storm sink; AEW treading water?

This wasn't a good edition of AEW Rampage.

Last week's show had a tidy opener, fun multi-man tag and even a decent squash from Powerhouse Hobbs. On Friday, All Elite presented another decent opening bout, but nothing else really got going in-ring. One of the matches gets a pass because of its post-match angle, but the actual meat bell-to-bell? Bang average, sadly.

Tony Khan did book some heavy hitters to try and give the secondary show some star power though. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were in town, and the freshly-turned heel duo of Saraya and Toni Storm worked a tag match elsewhere. Unfortunately, the latter two were totally at odds with what AEW fans want from them.

There's a real disconnect with some of these acts heading into Revolution, which is worrying. On a more cheerful note, one of the company's least-interesting stories did actually get some spotlight to bask in on Rampage - that was unexpected, and it came as a pleasant surprise.

Here's all the good and bad from an episode that ranged between phoned in to decent.
